Coal India Limited (CIL), India's largest coal-producing PSU and one of the world's biggest mining companies, has released the CIL Management Trainee (MT) Recruitment 2026 notification (Advt. No. 03/2026) for 660 vacancies in E1 Grade. Online applications are open at coalindia.in until June 11, 2026 at 6:00 PM. Minimum marks requirement: General, EWS, and OBC candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA) in the qualifying degree. SC, ST, and PwD candidates require 50% minimum. Candidates in their final semester/year of the qualifying degree can also apply but must complete the degree by the time of joining.

Selection process — CBT pattern: The selection is entirely based on a Computer Based Test (CBT). No interview is conducted. The CBT has questions from the relevant engineering/professional discipline, General Knowledge, and Reasoning. Total marks and duration vary by discipline — refer to the official notification PDF for the complete pattern. Final merit list is prepared strictly based on CBT marks. There is no Group Discussion or interview round.
