Coal India Management Trainee 2026 — 660 Posts, ₹60K Starting Salary, Apply from May 12

Coal India Limited (CIL), India's largest coal producer and a Maharatna PSU, has released Advertisement No. 03/2026 for 660 Management Trainee (MT) posts in E-1 Grade across 9 disciplines.
Online registration opens on May 12, 2026 at the official CIL website and the last date to apply is June 11, 2026 (6:00 PM). The CBT exam date will be notified separately through admit cards.
Disciplines and vacancies: Electrical (highest vacancies), Civil, Mechanical, Systems, Electronics & Telecommunication, Geology, Industrial Engineering, Rajbhasha (Hindi), and Company Secretary. Total 660 posts — 647 fresh + 13 backlog.
Eligibility: B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering)/M.Tech/MCA/M.Sc in the relevant discipline from a recognized institute. Final-year students of 2025-26 session can apply if they get results by August 31, 2026. Upper age limit is 30 years as on April 30, 2026, with standard category relaxations.
Salary: Starting basic pay of ₹60,000/month in E-1 grade, with pay scale up to ₹1,80,000. Additional benefits include DA, HRA, cafeteria allowances, medical benefits, pension, and Performance Related Pay. Total CTC is significantly higher than the basic salary.
Selection process: Entirely through Computer Based Test (CBT) — no interview, no group discussion. The CBT consists of two papers (Paper I: General Aptitude, Paper II: Professional Knowledge) conducted in a single 3-hour sitting. No negative marking.
Application fee: ₹1,180 for General/OBC/EWS candidates. SC/ST/PwBD and CIL employees are exempted. Fee is non-refundable.
Important: Selected candidates must sign a 5-year service bond of ₹3 lakh at joining. ₹5,000 is deducted monthly and refunded (without interest) after completing 60 months. Posting can be anywhere in India, including coalfield areas.
