Disciplines: Electrical (highest vacancies), Civil, Mechanical, Systems, Electronics & Telecommunication, Geology, Industrial Engineering, Rajbhasha (Hindi), and Company Secretary.
Selection process: Entirely through Computer Based Test (CBT) — no interview, no group discussion. Two papers in a single 3-hour sitting: Paper I (General Aptitude) and Paper II (Professional Knowledge). No negative marking.
Salary and benefits: Starting basic pay of ₹60,000/month with pay scale up to ₹1,80,000. Additional benefits include DA, HRA, cafeteria allowances, medical benefits, pension, and Performance Related Pay. CIL is a Maharatna PSU — among the best-paying government companies.
