Qualified candidates will now face the SSB Interview — a 5-day process that includes screening tests on Day 1, psychological tests on Days 2-3 (TAT, WAT, SRT, Self Description), group testing on Day 4 (GD, GPE, PGT, HGT, Individual Obstacles, Command Task), and a personal interview on Day 5. After SSB, candidates undergo medical examination.
The final merit list is prepared based on combined marks of the written exam and SSB Interview. Candidates are allotted to Army, Navy, or Air Force wings based on their preference, merit, and vacancy availability. Selected candidates train at NDA Khadakwasla, Pune for three years followed by one year at their respective service academies.
Candidates who did not qualify can start preparing for NDA 2 2026. The UPSC NDA 2 notification is expected on May 20, 2026, with the exam scheduled for September 13, 2026. The eligibility criteria and syllabus remain the same — focus on Mathematics, General Ability Test, and physical fitness for SSB.
NDA remains one of the most prestigious entry points into the Indian Armed Forces for candidates who have completed or are appearing in Class 12. With both boys and girls now eligible, the competition is intense but the career rewards — including training at one of the world's finest military academies — are unmatched.
