UPSC CSE Prelims 2026 on May 24 — Admit Card Out, Last-Minute Strategy & Exam Day Checklist

The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026 is 3 days away — Sunday, May 24, 2026. If you're appearing, here's your complete exam day preparation guide.

Admit card — download NOW if you haven't: Visit upsconline.nic.in → Enter registration number or roll number + DOB → Download → Print two copies. Check your name, photo, exam centre address, and reporting time.

What to carry: Printed admit card (2 copies). Original photo ID (Aadhaar/PAN/Voter ID — same as on admit card). Black ballpoint pen. Transparent water bottle. Analog watch (digital/smart watches banned).

What NOT to carry: Mobile phone, smartwatch, Bluetooth earpiece, calculator, electronic gadgets of any kind. These will be confiscated and may lead to disqualification.

Last 3 days strategy: Do NOT start any new topic. Revise what you know — focus on Polity, Geography, History facts. Read last 6 months of current affairs. Attempt 1 full-length mock today, analyse mistakes. Rest on May 23 — no studying after 6 PM.

Paper I strategy: Attempt 65-75 questions with high accuracy rather than all 100. Each wrong answer costs 0.67 marks. If you can eliminate 2 options, attempt. Otherwise skip.

CSAT strategy: Paper II is qualifying only — you need 33% (66/200). Focus on reading comprehension and basic maths. Don't panic over decision-making questions.
