SSC CGL 2026 Notification Expected This Month — 15,000+ Vacancies, Tier 1 in June-July

The Staff Selection Commission is expected to release the SSC CGL 2026 notification this month at ssc.gov.in. Originally scheduled for March 31, the notification was delayed due to administrative reasons. Based on the SSC Calendar 2026-27, approximately 15,000-18,000 vacancies are expected for Group B and Group C posts across central government departments.

SSC CGL is India's most popular graduate-level government exam, recruiting for posts like Income Tax Inspector, CBI Sub-Inspector, Assistant Section Officer, Auditor, Excise Inspector, Preventive Officer, and Statistical Investigator. Last year, SSC filled 15,118 vacancies through CGL — a similar or higher count is expected this year.

Eligibility is straightforward — any Bachelor's degree from a recognized university qualifies you to apply. Age limit ranges from 18-32 years depending on the post, with standard relaxation for reserved categories. The application fee is Rs 100 for general/OBC males and free for women and SC/ST/PwD candidates.

The selection process has two tiers. Tier 1 is a qualifying Computer Based Test covering General Intelligence, English, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness. Tier 2 determines your final merit and post allocation. Both are online exams. Start your preparation now — Tier 1 is expected in June-July 2026, giving you 1-2 months from notification.

💡What to do RIGHT NOW

Complete your SSC One-Time Registration (OTR) at ssc.gov.in if you haven't already — OTR is mandatory for all SSC exam applications and takes 15 minutes. Keep your graduation marksheet, Aadhaar, photo, and signature scans ready. Start Tier 1 preparation immediately — General Awareness (current affairs of last 6 months), Quantitative Aptitude (arithmetic at Class 10 level), and Reasoning (puzzles, coding-decoding, series). The notification can drop any day this month.
