SSC CGL 2026 Notification Expected This Week — 15,000+ Vacancies, Tier 1 in May-June

The Staff Selection Commission was scheduled to release the SSC CGL 2026 notification on March 31, 2026, but it was delayed. Multiple sources now indicate the notification is expected in the last week of April — possibly any day now. Aspirants should keep checking ssc.gov.in daily.
SSC CGL is one of India's most competitive graduate-level exams, recruiting for prestigious Group B and Group C posts across central government departments. Last cycle saw over 17,000 vacancies. For 2026, approximately 15,000 or more vacancies are expected across departments including Income Tax, Customs, CBI, CBDT, Ministry of External Affairs, and CAG.
The exam follows a two-tier pattern. Tier 1 is a Computer Based Examination with 100 MCQs covering General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. Tier 2 is the main scoring exam with advanced papers. Tier 1 is expected in May-June 2026 based on the delayed notification timeline.
Application fee is Rs 100 for general and OBC male candidates. SC, ST, PwD, ESM, and all women candidates are exempted from the fee. The application will be available through SSC's one-time registration portal at ssc.gov.in.
🎯Start preparing now — don't wait for notification
The syllabus doesn't change year to year. Start with Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning — these two sections decide your Tier 1 cutoff. For General Awareness, focus on last 6 months current affairs and static GK (polity, geography, economics). English can be improved quickly with daily reading. Solve previous year papers from 2022-2025 to understand the difficulty level.
