Kalyana Lakshmi & Shaadi Mubarak Telangana 2026 — ₹1,00,116 One-Time Marriage Assistance
Telangana's one-time marriage assistance scheme — ₹1,00,116 (₹1,25,145 for brides with disability) paid to bride's mother at the time of marriage
📖What is Kalyana Lakshmi & Shaadi Mubarak Telangana 2026 — ₹1,00,116 One-Time Marriage Assistance?
Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam (also called the Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme) is the Government of Telangana's flagship marriage assistance scheme. Launched on 2 October 2014 by then-Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, it provides one-time financial assistance to the families of brides from economically weaker backgrounds at the time of marriage.
The benefit amount started at ₹51,000 in 2014, was revised to ₹75,116 in 2017, and increased again on 19 March 2018 to ₹1,00,116 — the current amount. For brides with disabilities, the assistance is enhanced to ₹1,25,145. The amount is transferred directly into the bride's mother's bank account through DBT.
Shaadi Mubarak is the sister scheme for brides from minority communities (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi, Jain). It offers the same ₹1,00,116 amount but is administered by the Telangana Minority Welfare Department. Together, Kalyana Lakshmi (for SC/ST/BC/EBC brides) and Shaadi Mubarak (for minority brides) cover almost every economically weaker bride in Telangana — only the applying department differs based on the bride's community.
✅Eligibility
Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak applications must be submitted within 3 months of the marriage date. Late applications are routinely rejected and the deadline is strict. Start the process as soon as the marriage is fixed or finalised. The benefit is paid after the marriage takes place, but the application file must be opened well within the window.

📋Kalyana Lakshmi vs Shaadi Mubarak — What's the Difference?
Both schemes provide the same amount (₹1,00,116) and have the same eligibility logic — but they apply to different communities and are administered by different departments.
Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam: For brides from SC (Scheduled Caste), ST (Scheduled Tribe), BC (Backward Class), and EBC (Economically Backward Class) communities. Administered by SC Development Department (for SC brides), Tribal Welfare Department (for ST), and BC Welfare Department (for BC and EBC). This covers all Hindu, Buddhist, and other non-minority brides from these categories.
Shaadi Mubarak: For brides from minority communities — Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi, Jain. Administered exclusively by the Telangana Minority Welfare Department.
If you're unsure which one to apply under, check your bride's caste certificate. SC/ST/BC/EBC → Kalyana Lakshmi. Religious minority → Shaadi Mubarak. The amount and process are otherwise identical.

⚠️Common Reasons for Application Rejection
Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak applications fail for specific reasons. Watch for these to avoid losing the ₹1,00,116:
1. Late application. The strict 3-month window from marriage date is the #1 reason. Even one day past the deadline can result in rejection. Apply on the same day or within weeks of marriage.
2. Bride below 18. The scheme strictly enforces the legal marriage age. Birth certificate or 10th/12th certificate must clearly show 18+ on marriage date.
3. Income certificate above ₹2 lakh. Many families submit older income certificates showing income just above the threshold. Get a fresh income certificate from Tehsildar showing income under ₹2 lakh.
4. Wrong department application. Filing Kalyana Lakshmi for a minority bride (should be Shaadi Mubarak) or vice versa wastes time. Confirm community from caste certificate first.
5. Bride's mother's bank account issues. The amount goes to mother's account — not bride's, not groom's. Mother must have Aadhaar-linked single-holder account. Joint accounts get rejected.
The ₹1,00,116 is credited via DBT to the bride's mother's Aadhaar-linked bank account — not to the bride's own account, not to the groom's, not to a joint account. The design reflects the scheme's intent: assistance for the bride's family during the marriage. Ensure the mother has a single-holder bank account with Aadhaar linked and NPCI-mapped before applying.
