Mukhyamantri Sikho Kamao Yojana (MMSKY) is MP's innovative skill development scheme where youth are placed at private companies and establishments for 1-year on-the-job training. During this training, the government pays a monthly stipend directly to the trainee: ₹8,000/month for 12th pass, ₹8,500 for ITI holders, ₹9,000 for diploma holders, and ₹10,000 for graduates and above.
What makes this scheme unique: (1) You learn at REAL companies — not in a classroom. This gives you actual industry experience and skills that employers value. (2) You earn while learning — ₹8,000-10,000/month is a decent stipend for a trainee in tier-2/3 MP cities. (3) Companies are incentivized to hire trainees permanently — 75% of the stipend is paid by the state, making it very cheap for companies to take on trainees.
The scheme covers 700+ job roles across sectors: IT, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, healthcare, banking, engineering, media, and more. Companies register on the MMSKY portal and post training positions. Youth register, browse available positions, and apply. It works like a government-facilitated apprenticeship marketplace.
Over 10 lakh youth have registered on the portal since launch, with 1+ lakh actively placed at companies. The scheme addresses MP's key challenge: youth have education but no job-ready skills, and companies want skilled workers but can't afford to train freshers.

Private companies register on the portal and post training opportunities in specific job roles (e.g., data entry operator, CNC machine operator, retail sales, accounting assistant).

Youth applies, company shortlists
Youth apply for positions matching their qualifications. Companies review applications, interview candidates, and select trainees. The placement is mutual — both parties must agree.

Training begins + stipend starts
Youth joins the company for on-the-job training. Attendance is marked digitally. Stipend (₹8,000-10,000) is credited to bank account monthly — 75% by state government, 25% by company.

After 12 months — placement or certificate
After completing training, the company may offer permanent employment. If not, the trainee receives a skill certificate recognized by the state government, making them more employable elsewhere.
