📖What is Chiranjeevi Yojana (Rajasthan) — ₹25 Lakh Health Cover?

Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana is Rajasthan's universal health insurance scheme that provides ₹25 lakh per family per year for cashless hospitalization. Launched in May 2021, it's one of the most comprehensive state health schemes in India — covering almost all diseases including cancer, heart surgery, organ transplant, and neurosurgery.

What makes Chiranjeevi unique: (1) ₹25 lakh cover is 5× more than Ayushman Bharat's ₹5 lakh, (2) It covers ALL Rajasthan families (not just BPL — even general category families can join for ₹850/year), (3) Treatment is available at empanelled hospitals across India, not just Rajasthan, (4) It includes 5 days pre-hospitalization and 15 days post-hospitalization expenses.

For NFSA/BPL families, registration is FREE — the state government pays the premium. For non-NFSA families (general/APL), the annual premium is just ₹850 per family — regardless of family size. This means a family of 6 gets ₹25 lakh health cover for ₹850/year — perhaps the cheapest comprehensive health insurance in the world.

Over 1.35 crore families (approximately 85% of Rajasthan's population) are registered under Chiranjeevi. The scheme has processed lakhs of claims for treatments ranging from simple surgeries to complex procedures like heart bypass and cancer chemotherapy.
