I have a domicile of another state but live in Maharashtra for 20 years. Am I eligible?

If you have 15+ years of continuous residence in Maharashtra with proof (voter ID, Ration card, Aadhaar with Maharashtra address), you are eligible even without a formal domicile certificate. The 15-year residence proof serves as equivalent to domicile.

Can I get both Ladli Behna (MP) and Majhi Ladki Bahin (Maharashtra)?

No. You can only apply in the state where you are a resident. If you have Maharashtra residence, apply for Majhi Ladki Bahin. If MP residence, apply for Ladli Behna. You cannot be a resident of two states simultaneously.

My income certificate shows ₹2.6 lakh. Am I rejected?

Yes, the ₹2.5 lakh limit is strict. If your actual income is below ₹2.5 lakh and the certificate is wrong, get it re-issued from the Tehsildar with correct figures. Alternatively, if income has reduced in the current year, get a fresh certificate reflecting current income.

Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana (Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana) was launched by the Maharashtra government in 2024 as a direct response to the popularity of MP's Ladli Behna scheme. It provides ₹1,500 per month (₹18,000/year) to eligible women aged 21-65 from economically weaker families in Maharashtra.

The scheme is one of the most generous state-level women's benefit programs in India — ₹1,500/month is ₹250 more than MP's Ladli Behna. With Maharashtra's large population, over 2 crore women are expected to benefit. The money is transferred directly to the woman's Aadhaar-linked bank account.

Eligibility requires: Maharashtra domicile, age 21-65, family annual income below ₹2.5 lakh, and the woman should not be an income tax payer. Women from all categories (General, OBC, SC, ST, NT, VJNT) are eligible. Married, unmarried, widowed, divorced, and separated women all qualify.
